These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all services provided by Benowa Integrated Health (“the Clinic”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or attending an appointment, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Benowa Integrated Health provides allied health services including:

  • Osteopathy

  • Shockwave Therapy

  • Remedial Massage

  • Other associated musculoskeletal and wellness services

All services are delivered by qualified practitioners within their professional scope of practice.

Treatment outcomes vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

Our services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or emergency medical care where required.

2. Informed Consent to Treatment

By attending the Clinic, you consent to assessment and treatment.

You acknowledge and understand that:

  • Physical therapies may result in temporary soreness, discomfort, bruising, inflammation or aggravation of symptoms.

  • Shockwave therapy may cause temporary pain, redness or swelling.

  • You may withdraw consent or request treatment modification at any time.

  • You have disclosed all relevant medical history, injuries, medications and health conditions.

Written consent may be required for certain procedures, including shockwave therapy.

3. Patient Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide complete and accurate health information.

  • Inform the practitioner of any changes to your medical condition, medications, pregnancy status, or injury.

  • Follow reasonable treatment recommendations where appropriate.

The Clinic is not responsible for adverse outcomes arising from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the patient.

4. Appointments and Strict Cancellation Policy

Booking

Appointments can be made online, by phone, or in person.

Cancellation & Rescheduling (Strict Policy)

We operate a strict 24-hour cancellation policy.

  • At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule any appointment.

  • Failure to provide sufficient notice will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

  • Non-attendance (“Did Not Attend”) will incur the full consultation fee.

  • Cancellation fees must be paid prior to booking further appointments.

This policy applies to all appointment types.

Late Arrival

  • Late arrival may result in reduced treatment time.

  • Full consultation fees will still apply.

5. Fees and Payment

  • Payment is required at the time of consultation.

  • Fees are subject to change without notice.

  • We accept standard payment methods including EFTPOS, credit/debit card and cash (as available).

Any outstanding accounts must be settled before further appointments are booked.

6. Private Health Insurance Rebates

Private health insurance rebates are available for eligible services.

  • HICAPS or electronic claiming may be available in clinic.

  • Rebate amounts vary by insurer and level of cover.

  • Patients are responsible for any gap payment.

  • The Clinic does not guarantee rebate eligibility or rebate amounts.

7. Refund Policy

As healthcare services are delivered at the time of consultation:

  • Refunds are not provided for completed services.

  • If a prepayment has been made and adequate cancellation notice is given, the payment may be credited to a future appointment at the Clinic’s discretion.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles.

We collect personal and health information for:

  • Treatment and clinical records

  • Administrative and billing purposes

  • Legal and regulatory compliance

Your information will:

  • Be kept confidential and secure

  • Not be disclosed without consent unless required by law

  • Be accessible to you upon written request

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • All services are provided with due care and skill.

  • The Clinic is not liable for injury, loss or damages arising from treatment except where required under Australian Consumer Law.

  • You acknowledge that clinical outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Workplace Health and Safety

We maintain a safe and respectful environment.

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue treatment if:

  • A patient is under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Behaviour is abusive, aggressive or inappropriate

  • It is unsafe or clinically inappropriate to proceed

Full fees may still apply where appointments are terminated for these reasons.

11. Children and Minors

Patients under 18 must:

  • Have a parent or legal guardian provide consent, and

  • A parent/guardian may be required to attend the initial consultation.

12. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically.

The current version will be available:

  • At reception, and/or

  • On our website (if applicable)

Continued attendance at the Clinic constitutes acceptance of the current Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Queensland courts.
